Morrocco Method Hair Products Review

I remember those days when I used to wake up in the morning with strands of hair all over my pillow.

Hair loss had been one of my major health problems when my kids were little. Stress, lack of a good diet and failing to have a good sleep all contributed to my hair loss problem.

If you have been following my blog for a while, you already had to chance to read about how I managed to control hair loss. And I am really thankful for all who supported me during those years.

One thing that I am now concerned about is the chemicals we put on our scalp when we shower. You know this could damage your scalp, sometimes clog your pores, and eventually cause hair loss.

Major synthetic chemicals that cause hair loss are the ones that smell good and create luxuriant lather. The most famous nasty chemical is Sodium laurel sulfate (SLS), which is known to “strips hair of essential oils, breaks down protein essential for hair health, and halts growth.” according to New York City hair specialist and restoration surgeon Dr. Robert Dorin.

Other ingredients to avoid in your hair care products are Formaldehyde, parabens, alcohol, sodium chloride, DEA, TEA, fragrances and artificial colors.

Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo (for All Hair Types)

This shampoo contains acetic acid derived from apple cider vinegar as the main ingredient. Acetic acid can increase blood flow to the scalp and restore a healthy pH level. ACV shampoo is also a non-foaming, antibacterial shampoo, specially created to repair and revitalize your hair and scalp.

If you ever used natural shampoo, then you already know that most of them don’t lather, and this shampoo from Morrocco Method is no exception. 

To get the shampoo through your hair easily, they recommend diluting it in a smaller bottle with 50% shampoo and 50% high quality filtered water right before using it. This will make it easy to use since it is highly concentrated.

I have been using ACV shampoo from Morrocco Method for more than a month now, and I could not be happier. I should mention that my hair acted weirdly in the first 2 weeks, something called “detox period“. My scalp was accustomed to the use of synthetic chemicals, such as SLS. So when I switched to a natural shampoo, my scalp and hair appeared greasier, but I learned that this is common when switching from an over-the-counter shampoo that contains chemicals to a natural shampoo.

This is no longer the case, on the contrary, my hair looks shiny without the excess oils, easy to comb (even without using a conditioner), and also appears thicker which is the best part as for one having thin hair.

Pearl Essence Crème Rinse

According to the experts, frizzy hair is often drier and tends to absorb moisture from the environment; one way to solve that is by using a conditioner. 

But since I have thin hair, I had to avoid using a conditioner and I limited using a conditioner to once a week. That is because most hair conditioners weigh down my hair and make it even look thinner.

So for years, that seemed a good solution, but then, I had to deal with frizzy hair.

Argan oil was a good solution for most of the time, but I needed to find a better long-term conditioner that is natural and works.

Sapphire Volumizer Mist

Sapphire Volumizer Mist is a spray-on, leave-in hair conditioner. It is a lighter alternative to the deep conditioner and a great way to add volume, tames frizz, and condition your hair without weighing it down, especially if you have thin hair.

The main ingredient, natural grape seed oil, helps to heal the hair follicle that may have been damaged due to synthetic hair color and environmental conditions while hydrating your hair and scalp; thus promoting long-term thickening results.

It is a mixture of Kaolin and Montmorillonite clays, both of which are highly absorbent, it also removes excess sebaceous oils and residual chemicals from synthetic hair care products you use.

Blood of the Dragon Styling Gel

Blood of the Dragon Styling Gel conditions your hair while providing a light to moderate hold. 

My kids always wanted to use a gel for styling their hair but never allowed them to use one, especially that most over-the-counter gels contain lots of synthetic chemicals.

Blood of the dragon gel was different; it helps controlling frizz and maintaining style, without the nasty chemicals.

 My Over All Experience

As I already mentioned before, it is a big challenge to find a shampoo that cleans my hair without stripping away its natural oils. Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo is doing a good job. While it might seem odd as it does not lather, I am really happy to know that it does not contain all those bad chemicals that I had been using before.

Morrocco methods conditioners provide a wide selection of products that suit all needs. I liked most the mist; it moisturizes my hair and tames frizz, and it helped skip the conditioner, so my hair is shiny, smooth, frizzy-free, tangle-free, and without losing its volume.

My daughter, who has been using the Pearl Essence Crème Rinse, is so glad that she found a conditioner, which controls frizz and conditions her thick, wavy hair.
