Dry feet are a common problem. Usually, when your feet get dry, you experience some pain and itchiness. Red patches also start to appear. Moreover, if not treated properly may lead to cracked feet.
It occurs when your feet are lacking in moisture because of standing for long periods of time and due to cold weather during winter. Thyroid and eczema are some of the diseases that may cause dry feet, too.
You do not need expensive treatments for dry feet. The most effective treatment for dry feet is right there in your kitchen. Here are 9 of the most effective dry feet home remedies.
#1 Exfoliate with Olive Oil and Sugar
Thoroughly mix equal parts of brown sugar and olive oil to form a thick scrub. Clean your feet. Using your hands, rub the mixture all over your feet. Forcefully scrub your feet for about 15 minutes. Rinse off the scrub with cool water. Pat dry your feet.
#2 Hydrate Your Feet with Coconut or Sesame Oil
The lauric acid in coconut oil will moisturize your feet, and the linoleic fatty acids in sesame oil will hydrate your feet, too. Together they will treat your dry feet and make it baby soft.
Also, lauric acid is also a known antiseptic. It can prevent your dry skin from having an infection especially if you have been vigorously scratching your skin.
#3 Moisturize with Petroleum Jelly
Petroleum jelly will work very well in moisturizing your feet. Rubbing petroleum jelly on your dry skin will lock in the moisture in your skin to heal dryness. Before going to bed, massage petroleum jelly generously all over your feet focusing mostly on the heels, top of the feet and between your toes. Rinse it off in the morning.
#4 Soften Skin with Honey
Honey works well in preserving the moisture and softening the skin in your feet. It can also protect your skin from bacteria, yeast, and fungi infections. Apply honey on your dry feet, leave it on for a few minutes, and then rinse with plain water.
#5 Massage with Milk Cream
Mix well milk cream and about a ¼ spoon of salt (common). Massage your dry feet with this mixture in a circular motion for about 10 minutes. Leave the mixture on your skin for a few minutes and then rinse with plain water. Milk cream will moisturize your skin and salt helps the mixture penetrate your skin.
#6 Exfoliate with a Yogurt Mask
Use an inexpensive yogurt mask instead of a high-end cream to exfoliate your dry feet. Cover your dry feet with full-fat yogurt mixed with 1 teaspoon of raw honey. Leave it on for about 10 minutes before rinsing.
Yogurt contains lactic acid, which is great for removing dead skin its fats content works well-restoring moisture.
#7 Mash Some Bananas
Banana is often eaten to aid in weight loss and to improve the immune system. Banana can also significantly treat your dry feet. Mash up about three bananas and toss into the blender to make a paste.
Apply the paste directly on your dry feet and leave it on for about 20 minutes. Rinse off the paste with warm water. For best results, apply the banana paste on your dry feet about 3 times a week.
#8 Prepare a Natural Foot Scrub
Make a thick paste by mixing a little bit of honey with a half glass of apple cider vinegar to rice powder (coarse). Soak your feet in Luke-warm water for about 15 minutes before applying the paste. Leave the paste on your dry feet for the night and rinse off in the morning.
You can also make a foot scrub by mixing 1 teaspoon Epson salt and some olive oil. Gently massage your dry feet with the mixture and rinse with plain water.

Soaking your dry feet in warm water will banish the dryness and will relax your feet. You can also add 1 teaspoon of Epson salt to make your feet softer and more relaxed.
