While finding a new DIY recipe could be quite easy, shopping the ingredients and containers is something that makes me hesitate to try out new recipes.
Last month I reviewed the Spring Cleaning box from Simply Earth, and I am now very excited about reviewing their Beauty box!
Even if you had never made any DIY recipe, it is much easier to do it when you have Simply Earth essential oils subscription box in hand; there are the recipe cards, the ingredients that you will need, including 100% pure essential oils, and the containers that save you time so you do not have to go shopping to get some.
This month’s box includes the following recipes:
- Under eye serum
- Natural shampoo and body wash
- Natural conditioner
- Natural facial cleanser
- Body scrub
- Makeup remover
This box is definitely the ultimate beauty box for DIY lovers, and each recipe is unique as it contains 1-2 essential oils. Here are two of my favorite recipes:
Under Eye Serum
This is the recipe that I have always wished to make at home, especially that I love serums, and I like to use an under eye serum to nourish my delicate skin under my eyes. This recipe makes it easy, inexpensive, and effective way to creating your own serum at home.
Ingredients
- 10 drops Geranium essential oil
- 10 drops Cypress essential oil
- Camellia seed oil
- 10 ml roll-on bottle (included in the box)
Geranium essential oil is a wrinkle reducer; it tightens your facial skin and slows down the effects of aging. It also has healing properties, thus it helps fade scars.
Just like geranium essential oil, cypress essential oil is also an astringent, so it will help tighten your skin.
In this recipe, we are using camellia seed oil as a carrier oil. This oil is a great moisturizer, a superb anti-oxidant, has anti-aging properties, anti-inflammatory, and anti-allergic.
Directions
- Add 10 drops of each essential oil to a roll-on bottle.
- Fill the rest of the bottle with Camellia Seed oil.
- Roll onto skin gently beneath eyes.
I really like this supernatural serum; it smells like a mix of balsamic and floral aromas, and it moisturizes my very dry under eye area quite well.
Because it makes my skin oily and shiny, I like to use it as a night treatment and use a creamy moisturizer during the day.
Natural Hair Conditioner
Apple cider vinegar is a great natural hair conditioner, it also gets rid of the accumulation of hair products, leaving your scalp and hair clean and shiny, in addition to reducing frizz.
If you like using apple cider vinegar as a hair wash, still hate how it smells, this is the recipe that you should try.
In this recipe, adding lemongrass essential oil will leave your hair smelling citrusy, not to mention being shiny and clean.
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar.
- 10 drops lemongrass essential oil.
- 5 drops cypress essential oil.
Lemongrass essential oil has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties that make it suitable for curing most hair problems. Thus strengthening your hair follicles, and resulting in a clean scalp and healthy hair.
Directions
- Mix ingredients together in an 8oz spray bottle.
- Shake bottle before using and then spray hair.
- Leave in hair for 5 minutes then rinse.
With all those chemicals existing in cosmetics, making your own beauty products at home would be the best choice for a “healthy you”. Nevertheless, it would be hard to find a simple remedy that works, and it would take time and effort to shop what you will need.
Simply Earth is going to do all the hard work for you by sending a complete kit to your doorstep every month. Make sure to visit their website for more details.
