Living in an age where young women are depicted to be visually perfect can spiral damaging effects on both our skin, externally, and our self-esteem and perception, internally.
Both aspects of ourselves should be looked after with due care and with equal importance as the other. The time each one of them serves us for is accountable for the rest of our lives, so both need to be treated with tender loving care.
Usually, when you treat your skin to homemade beauty foods to revive and rejuvenate, such as yogurt based facial masks or sugar and coffee body scrubs, you usually find that afterward, you feel more comfortable in your own skin. Your self-esteem lifts and the perception of yourself is seen more positively.
On the flip side, when you feel that your self-perception and esteem is relatively high your attitude is reflected in your behavior and the way you portray yourself on the outside. The first feature which receives most praise from others is the one we recognize to be glowing from our heightened sense of being, which is our skin.
By looking after one part of our ‘makeup’, you will usually find that they complement each other anyway, making this body and soul partnership a match made in organic heaven.

‘Falsie Fanatic’ to ‘Green Goddess’
Due to a mounting pressure from social media platforms such as Instagram, Tumblr, and YouTube, many women feel that by enhancing their most desirable and impressive features with layers of high street product, they will be creating the most aesthetic version of themselves.
The old saying ‘less is more’ has been swept under the concealer brush to be forgotten and camouflaged, but this concept more than ever needs to be highlighted.
Whilst there are many options customary to the former mainstream maniac, the same vast variety awaits the organic opportunist. Whilst many ladies queue up for the UV coffins and spray tan parlors, you could DIY the matter yourself and opt for organic self-tanners. Instead of risking that blood orange hue from Bride Wars which often results in blocking the skin’s pores, choose ingredients which integrate vegetable derived DHA and Erythrulose which will develop your inner bronze beauty without risking your skin to the UV rays and harmful pesticides. Complete your pamper session with coconut butter to moisturize and soften the skin.
As well, attaining lustrous locks in a world which promotes unnatural shades such as ‘smoky lilac’ is another issue. In a modern age which allows us to savor all of these wacky hair choices, there surely must be a less harrowing solution than to plaster chemical dye all over our heads?
Indeed, there is.
By using fewer chemicals, toxins, and pesticides, organic products bypass health challenges associated with salon dyes and incorporate the best natural ingredients. This way, you are not causing unnecessary damage that sometimes cannot be reversed. Usually, you would be spending lots of money on high-quality salon serums to deal with the dry and lifeless hair to conquer those split ends but instead, ingredients such as soya bean, wheat and corn will nourish your hair without a visit to the salon.
However, to those who feel more comfortable with the end result that tongs and salon enhanced dyes can create (forgoing the negatives), a solution, is to devise a homemade hair mask using olive or coconut oil, which can be just as good, if not better, than the professional serums.
The Beauty Benefits of Using Natural Products Daily
Aside from the fact that it will be much more nutritional for your skin, it will also be causing a subsequent effect in the world we live in. The amount of synthetic products which are washed down our drains and into the environment are on a countless scale. Just think how much better off our ecosystem would be if we disposed of a higher majority of organic products. The companies which source natural products do the same with the packaging and materials they are sold in, so buying those items would mean you are a sustaining green machine all round!
Daily use of highly sustainable and sourced products means you are giving your skin the royal treatment. Skin appears more supple, moisturized and soft, leaving your splotchy and often tired looking skin, radiating. To achieve this, it is so important to try and avoid chemicals such as SLS, parabens, and formaldehyde. This is the easy part though as most products provide various certifications and labels on the packaging so you know exactly what ingredients you are applying to your skin.
Don’t know what ingredients you should be looking for? Well, you could start with shea butter. One of Goddess Aegle’s, the goddess of the healthy glows, a most valuable ingredient in any organic product. It does wonders for your skin and tackles any dry patches you may be having trouble facing. Clay is another one which will be sure to cleanse your skin without stripping away your body’s essential oils.
These formulas all in all top trump mainstream cosmetics and products because they are great for sensitive skin, whilst providing a safer alternative.
The Potential Dangers
It is clear to see that organic products relieve the burden of chemicals found in your high street make up brands but as they stand, they are not as widely used. This is because popular products such as L’Oréal, Maybelline, and Rimmel can afford more expensive marketing strategies, aesthetically pleasing packaging to the eye and more importantly; global recognition. These brands, however, are never going to fizzle out due to their demand but it is important to immerse yourself in the effects of these cosmetics and what they can be doing to your skin and hair.
As we know, many women gain pleasure from changing their hairstyle style and color. On many levels, women enjoy concealing the signs of aging by masking their silver strands whilst other women like to present self-expression in an edgy and temporary manner. Amplifying your hair can be exciting, but if you are adamant that you want to follow through with this professionally, there are a few considerations you need to assess to make your fresh start a success.
The cosmetic industry is a fast-paced and growing market which allures consumers in every hour of the day. Although not all mainstream makeup is damaging, it is definitely worth trial running a series of organic products so you yourself can notice the changes it is making to your skin. By avoiding the synthetic preservatives and inorganic oils, you can clock your skin go from fatigued to flawless.

Do you have any recommendations for organic or handmade beauty products?
Dima Al Mahsiri
Yes, sure, I have, but what type of beauty products are you interested in? Skincare? Haircare?
One of my favorite handmade products is Hypnotic Skinssentials, I love their Mimosa scrub and face exfoliator. There is also KYI whipped shea butter, try the citrus blend, you will LOVE it!

I love simplistic. I love the idea of a fresh face without the overpowering powders, concealers, and baking and caking on layers and layers to recreate a “new” face. I think the more natural the better, more glowing you will feel! Thanks for sharing!
