I have been using different hair care products in the past few years. I should say that they were good, but not great. Well, I noticed that when using the conditioner, my fine, and thin hair would become oily fast, and while I shampoo my hair every other day, it got very greasy that I had to either wash it more frequently or skip the conditioner.
For someone with thin hair, hair care products that weigh down my hair are not a good option. On the other hand, whenever I had to skip conditioner, my hair tended to dry. I was desperately looking for a shampoo for daily use, one that moisturizes my hair, still, does not weigh it down.
Last month, L’Oréal Paris contacted me offering to send me some of their products for review. I was so excited, and could not wait to receive mine!
Two weeks later, I received L’Oréal Paris Advanced Extraordinary Oil Hair Care products for dry, lifeless hair.
My hair is not dry all the time; I only notice that it usually tends to dry in spring, and autumn, so these have come just in the right time!
L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hair Care contains nine collections, in addition to the extraordinary oil collection; so that each of you finds her best hair care match. These includes:
- Nutri-Gloss for normal or dull hair gives your hair 48 hours of glossy shine.
- Color Vibrancy for color treated hair.
- Total Repair 5 for damaged hair.
- Total Repair Extreme for extremely damaged hair.
- Volume Filler for fine and thin hair.
- Ultimate Straight for frequently straightened hair.
- Smooth Intense for frizzy hair.
- Power Moisture for normal to dry hair.
- Triple Resist helps resist damage.
The Advanced Hair Care Extraordinary Oil hair care system is tailored for dry and lifeless hair that needs moisture and shine.
Each of the advanced hair care extraordinary line contains six oils; Coconut, Argan, Chamomile, Amla, Soja, and Sunflower oils. Most of you are already familiar with the power of coconut oil in treating damaged hair and scalp. Argan and chamomile oils, which are great for moisturizing your hair without weighing it down. Soja oil or soybean oil strengthens your hair and adds softness and shine. Finally, Amla oil helps strengthen the hair follicles and helps get rid of dandruff.
While these products contain a group of oils, it promises you lightweight, non-greasy, soft and luster hair in one wash.
Here is a close look at each member of this hair care system …
L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hair Care Extraordinary Oil Shampoo
The extraordinary oil shampoo contains the six oils Coconut, Argan, Chamomile, Amla, Soja, and Sunflower oils.
Argan oil gives you gorgeous hair; I usually use it for oiling your hair. I have also used Amla by adding it to my henna mix; it gives a wonderful natural shine to my locks, too.
The shampoo has a pleasant light smell that reminds me of musk, not too strong, but it lasts all day long, and as you use the conditioner and the mask, this will intensify the smell.
The shampoo lathers up quite well from the first application, and when I rinse my hair, I feel it is soft and clean, just as L’Oréal Paris promises; “In 1 wash lustrous, soft hair”.
I received the family size of the shampoo and conditioner (25.4 oz each), and since I shampoo once at a time, I believe this will last for long.

L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hair Care Extraordinary Oil Conditioner
The extraordinary oil conditioner was not like any other conditioner I used from the over-the-counter; it moisturizes my hair makes it soft, shiny, but never weighs it down. Even when conditioning my hair every time I shower, my hair did not seem to get greasy fast as it did before using L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hair Care. So once again, L’Oréal Paris kept their promise 🙂
This conditioner has a light creamy consistency and the same scent as the shampoo; actually, all four products have the same musk scent.
Here is a full list of the ingredients:
AQUA / WATER / EAU, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, BEHENTRIMONIUM CHLORIDE, AMODIMETHICONE, PARFUM / FRAGRANCE, ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL, PHENOXYETHANOL, COCOS NUCIFERA OIL / COCONUT OIL, BENZOIC ACID, TRIDECETH-6, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, ARGANIA SPINOSA KERNEL OIL, POTASSIUM HYDROXIDE, ARGININE, GLUTAMIC ACID, SERINE, CETRIMONIUM CHLORIDE, HYDROXYPROPYLTRIMONIUM HYDROLYZED WHEAT PROTEIN, BENZYL SALICYLATE, BENZYL ALCOHOL, GLYCINE SOJA OIL / SOYBEAN OIL, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS SEED OIL / SUNFLOWER SEED OIL, ALPHA-ISOMETHYL IONONE, HYDROXYCITRONELLAL, CHAMOMILLA RECUTITA EXTRACT / MATRICARIA FLOWER EXTRACT, CI 19140 / YELLOW 5, PHYLLANTHUS EMBLICA FRUIT EXTRACT, CI 15985 / YELLOW 6, CI 14700 / RED 4, TOCOPHEROL.
L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hair Care Extraordinary Oil Curls Re-Nourish Mask
As I used to avoid conditioning my hair, so do I had avoided applying hair masks.
The Advanced extraordinary oil re-nourish mask was a bit different.
This hair mask has a thick creamy consistency. I apply it after shampooing my hair once a week. I even used it after shampooing my hair (once), then conditioning it, and to my surprise, my hair was pretty, shiny, easy to manage and style, and even when using all three products, they did not weigh it down, which is great!
Ingredients:
AQUA / WATER / EAU, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, PARAFFINUM LIQUIDUM / MINERAL OIL / HUILE MINERALE, DIPALMITOYLETHYL HYDROXYETHYLMONIUM METHOSULFATE, CETYL ESTERS, PARFUM / FRAGRANCE, CETRIMONIUM CHLORIDE, PHENOXYETHANOL.
L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hair Care Extraordinary Oil Lustrous Oil Serum
When styling my hair, the Extraordinary oil lustrous serum makes a big difference. It gives my hair an extra shine and light refreshing smell. It also helps moisturize the ends of my hair. I did not notice that it controls frizz, and I did not expect it to do that since there is another serum from L’Oréal Paris for controlling frizz.
I usually use 1-2 pumps for my shoulder-length hair, mostly after I style my hair. However, it does not reduce frizz much, but I like how it adds shine to my hair.
I do not recommend using it on wet hair since you will not be able to know how much product to apply and you may end up with greasy hair.
Ingredients:
CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, DIMETHICONOL, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, PARFUM / FRAGRANCE, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS SEED OIL / SUNFLOWER SEED OIL, COCOS NUCIFERA OIL / COCONUT OIL, GLYCINE SOJA OIL / SOYBEAN OIL, CHAMOMILLA RECUTITA EXTRACT / MATRICARIA FLOWER EXTRACT, BENZYL SALICYLATE, BENZYL ALCOHOL, ALPHA-ISOMETHYL IONONE, HYDROXYCITRONELLAL, GARDENIA TAHITENSIS FLOWER EXTRACT, HEXYL CINNAMAL, ROSA CANINA FLOWER EXTRACT, BISABOLOL, NELUMBIUM SPECIOSUM EXTRACT / NELUMBIUM SPECIOSUM FLOWER EXTRACT, LINUM USITATISSIMUM FLOWER EXTRACT, TOCOPHEROL, BHT.
My Thoughts
I love all four products; the shampoo from the L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hair Care Extraordinary Oil cleans my hair quite well in one wash, the conditioner and the mask leaves my hair shiny, soft, and easy to manage and style, all of that without losing its volume. And the serum moisturizes my strands and adds shine, too.
One day, I would love to try the Smooth Intense Frizz Taming Serum with Oleo-Keratin, which is supposed to give 72 hours smooth frizz control. I am also curious about the L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Volume Filler set, would it really thicken my hair? Well, I will have to try them out before I can tell you!
Finally, I can say goodbye to dry, dull winter hair and hello to gorgeous, flowing locks!
You can buy both the shampoo and conditioner 12.6 fl oz (375 ml each) for $17.99.
*Though the brand sent me this product for review, all opinions are my own, and completely based on my own experience.

What a gorgeous haircare set, Dima! I’m so glad it came your way because you shouldn’t have to go without conditioner as you did in the past. This collection sounds fabulous. I always think L’Oreal products are wonderful because the company is so huge, has such amazing research and development capacity, and whatever they learn for their upscale Kerastase line must find its way into the L’Oreal haircare line. I haven’t tried this collection, but I’ve been using lots and lots of new haircare products lately. I just used Number 4 Lumiere D’Hiver Restore & Repair Hair Oil, and the instructions say to apply a small amount to damp hair (after shampooing and conditioning). I put some on my fingers and ran my fingers through my hair. Next, I blow dried & flat ironed my hair. My hair felt like silk, and I was able to go my usual 4 days without shampooing. Hope all is well with you and your family! (PS I have visited your blog a few times but I happened to choose days when you had a guest blogger so I didn’t leave a comment since you weren’t there.)

Thank you, Allison!
I do agree, conditioning your hair is so important to moisturize and maybe also protect your hair from the environment.
Yes! I was so excited to get this opportunity to try one of the new releases from L’Oreal haircare line. It DOES what it says, and that is what I liked most about it (even though it is not the most natural products in the market 😉 ).
Well, I have not used the Number 4 Lumiere D’Hiver Restore & Repair Hair Oil, but it looks like a good product, good to know that it works for you.
Allsion, even when it’s a guest post, I am always here to reply to comments, and your informative comments are always welcome 🙂
Thanks again for taking the time to read and comment!
Hope all is well with you, too!

Oils scare me. I have super dry, frizzy hair, but I have greasy roots. I don’t like to use conditioner either because it makes them even greasier. But this product sounds very interesting! Maybe if I just applied it to my ends, I would have good results. #ProductReviewParty

You nailed it, Melanie!
Applying conditioner and oils to your roots will make your hair greasier. I avoid applying to my roots for that reason.
I do recommend this hair-line since it does not make your hair greasy.
