Just when it starts to get warmer, my skin tends to dry. I know it is almost spring; the season when you enjoy cool weather, pretty nature, and adventures. But for me, and I suppose for some of you, spring is the time when eczema flare-ups appear (same as those nasty flare-ups in autumn). That is because our skin changes as the season changes, but it takes some time for our skin to adapt, some manage, but others will suffer from eczema before their skin will calm down.
In winter, I usually use creams for moisturizing my skin, but as it tends to get warm, I have to switch to lotions since I have combination skin, and this leaves my skin a bit dry.
Valentia Skin Care offered me their True Glow Eye Cream & Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask in return for a review. I was curious about the mask, and if it could help keep my skin supple and moisturized. Valentia Skin Care relies on all natural ingredients due to their protective, preventative, and corrective powers.
Valentia True Glow Eye Cream
The first thing that I noticed when I opened the packaging is the see-through, brown airtight pump. I like the idea of being able to see how much product is still there, unlike plastic airtight pumps.
The eye cream has an orange color and a lightly creamy consistency that penetrates quickly through the skin.
Valentia describes the True Glow Eye cream ($25) by saying that it can diminish fine lines & wrinkles, nourish & hydrate, tighten under eye area, brighten dark circles, reduce puffiness.
It contains antioxidants that are proven to enhance skin elasticity and reduce fine lines like vitamin C, and astaxanthin, in addition to organic rosehip oil.
I have been using this cream for 3 weeks, twice daily, and I love how my skin absorbs it quickly, so I do not have to wait for a long time before applying my makeup. It also works great under makeup; so there is no cakey concealer.
After 3 weeks, I noticed that my under eye area is tighter and less tired. Thankfully, I have few fine lines under my eyes, and it seems that Valentia eye cream succeeded in reducing them 🙂
I was hoping that it will brighten my dark circles, but unfortunately, it did not. I know dark circles are so stubborn, and maybe I will have to use it for a longer time. Anyway, I am also using InstaNatural Youth Express eye serum underneath for better results.
My thoughts
I love how my skin feels soft and tight after applying this cream. I have noticed that I wake up with brighter eyes, ever when staying up too late at night (though I do not recommend that!).
As I mentioned above, I was hoping to get rid of my dark circles, well, I did not, but I like how it refreshes my eyes area. Nevertheless, it works great for protecting the eye area thanks to the antioxidants.
It is alcohol-free, paraben-free, and cruelty-free. Buy if from Amazon here.
Valentia Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask
Ultra Plumping Hydration mask ($25) works as a treatment for dry skin, you can also use it to supply your skin with anti-oxidants and collagen boosting ingredients.
It contains Japanese green tea, aloe vera, organic rosehip oil, and hyaluronic acid.
Aloe vera and hyaluronic acid are two moisturizing factors that supply your skin with moisture and lock it in your skin. And here comes why this mask was named plumping; these ingredients help plump your skin from within.
Green tea, aloe vera, and amino acids have anti-aging benefits and they help improve your skin’s elasticity.
These ingredients all together, will reduce fine lines, and moisturizes your skin.
I usually exfoliate my skin 1-2 times, by using Azure naturals Ultimate Ocean Mineral mask, it cleans my skin and helps me control oil production. So I decided to use Valentia Ultra Plumping Hydration mask afterward, in order to give my skin a moisturizing treatment.
This mask has a gel-like consistency, smells nice, and is easy to apply.
The instructions say that it may cause a slight tingling sensation, and it did. However, it was as described “slight”, and nothing serious.
To remove this mask, you will need to use a damp cloth and warm water. I am used to washing my face after using facemasks, so this was a bit different, but I realized that this is much easier for removing gel-like masks. You may use a piece of clean cloth, towel, or cotton pads.
My Thoughts
With ingredients like green tea, aloe vera, and hyaluronic acid, this mask could be a great hydrating treatment. I like to use it after exfoliating my skin for better results since exfoliating remove all dead cells and open the pores, and that allows the mask to penetrate deeper in my skin.
One thing I am not used to is the use of a cloth to remove the mask; I always prefer to wash off my face in order to remove the mask, other than that, I like the Ultra Plumping Hydration mask from Valentia and the way it makes my skin feels soft and hydrated.
You can find both Valentia True Glow Eye Cream & Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask at Amazon.
