Because it could be very hot and humid in summer, I usually apply my sunscreen and go out without a foundation. Well, I cannot skip applying sunscreen, but I can handle it without foundation. Sometimes, I apply a light BB cream on top of the sunscreen, but when my skin starts to sweat, I really wish I had not!
I have seen several tinted sunscreens in the market, but since most sunscreens are oily, and could be too greasy for my combination skin, I was not sure if I should try one.
Then OZ Naturals sent me Age-Defying Solar Shield Tinted Sunscreen for review. My husband and I were planning on a beach vacation; we were going to the Dead Sea, and that was a good chance to put this sunscreen to the test.
The OZ Naturals brand “was founded, to create healthy, premium skin care products to help those who were not naturally born with perfect skin, to obtain perfect skin.”
Most sunscreens I have tried leave a white color on my skin. Even when blending well, you can tell that I have applied my sunscreen this morning. OZ Naturals tinted sunscreen does not 🙂 I like the idea of 2 in 1; sunscreen and light-medium coverage foundation. When I am on a vacation, I usually do not have much time to take care of my skin, but still I do my best to look good and take a good care of my skin, especially when I am spending most of my time outdoors.
This SPF 30 sunscreen contains Octyl Methoxycinnamate and Zinc Oxide for protection against UVA and UVB rays. Here is a look at the ingredients…
Active Ingredients: Octyl Methoxycinnamate 7.5%, Zinc Oxide 7.0%
Full List of Ingredients (Paraben-free, all skin types, non-comedogenic ): Deionized Water (Aqua), Stearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Glyceryl Dilaurate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Beeswax, Dimethicone, Cyclomethicone , Diisopropyl Adipate, Hexylene Glycol, PEG-40 Stearate, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, PEG-20, Carnauba Wax, Dimethicone Copolyol, PVP/Eicosene Copolymer, Sorbitan Tristearate, Stearoxytrimethylsilane, Steareth-100, Laureth-7, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Phenoxyethanol, Ethyhexylglycerin, Polyacrylamide.
On my first application, I applied too much; too much that I looked like I have tanned my face! Then I learned to use less, about the size of a pea for my face and neck. I found that the color is buildable, and I think this is how it fits quite more than one skin shade.
I like that it works as a BB cream on its own, for more coverage, you can apply foundation on top of it, but for me, it is fair enough. I sometimes apply a little concealer on brown spots to hide them, then I apply the tinted sunscreen, and this works quite well for me.
On the other hand, if you are planning to use it for your whole body, you will need more than one tube per month, which could be expensive, so I suggest you use it for your face and neck.
My Overall Experience
The idea of using one cream for moisturizing, protecting against harmful UV’s and a light foundation is great. Not only have you saved time, but money, too! OZ Naturals describes their product as a “lotion” type, it does absorb fast, no oily residue, and it gives a good protection to my skin. I only wish that it were waterproof.
I do recommend this sunscreen for those of oily to combination skin, who are looking for a lotion sunscreen that does not clog pores, in addition to other skin types. Not to mention that it is cruelty-free. You will find it at oznaturals.com, and Amazon.

Great to see someone talking about another Oz Naturals product! I’m curious how this product holds up to water? IF you go swimming or sweat too much? Does the color run? Would love to try this product myself! Thanks for the review. I’m passing it along!

Actually, Brenda, it does not hold up in water. I had to reapply after swimming, and every couple of hours, especially that it was very hot, and I sweat too much.
As I mentioned in my post, it would be great if it was water proof.
Louida
No longer summer here but I would love to use this moisturizer when I’m visiting Florida during the Fall and Winter months. I have combination skin so this would be great for me. #ProductReviewParty

Wow, that is a lot of tint! But that’s good-I totally wish I had known about this before summer ended 😀

Yes, kelly, it could be too dark for some!
