There are always two ways for healthy beautiful YOU, the healthy diet way, and the homemade remedies way. This is 100% true for your hair as well your skin and whole body.
Having frizzy hair is a common problem. Frizzy hair means that your tresses are so dry and in need for help. Your hair lost moisture and the essential oils that give it the shiny healthy looking. Humid weather can make the case worse, but the bad weather is not the cause of it, it is just a sign that your hair is suffering.
Sometimes, the product that you are using is not the right one. Always remember to look farther than the fancy labels that only give promises and nothing more. Not all silicones in hair products are safe. You should avoid silicones that cause build up; you will find more details here.
As I mentioned before, frizzy hair lacks the essential oils that keep the cuticles smooth. Thus, it is a common sense that adding healthy ingredients to your diet will help your hair. Next time you go shopping, add the following to your grocery list:
- Iron: in eggs, leafy greens, red meat, and kidney beans.
- Protein: in meat, fish and soybeans.
- Zinc: in cashews and chick peas.
- Vitamin B: in beans, peas, carrots, cauliflower, and nuts.

Dry frizzy hair needs good care from the outside, too. That includes compensating for oils and moist through rinses and natural homemade masks. Homemade remedies include a wide range of recipes that include ingredients found in your kitchen closet.
Here are some of my favorite frizzy hair remedies
Avocado hair mask:
Known for its very healthy oils, avocados are a perfect hair treatment, as well as for your skin.
You will need half an avocado fruit for preparing this lovely mask.
Directions: Mash avocado until it is smooth, then apply it to your clean damp tresses and leave on for 15 minutes, then rinse with water. This mask enables you to control your frizzy hair, and get lovely curls.
Apple cider rinse:
Frizzy hair means that your hair’s outer cuticle layer becomes roughened, which makes your hair more porous. In that case, your hair will absorb moisture from the surroundings, making frizziness worse, especially in humid weather. You need to smooth your hair’s cuticles, and that is what apple cider does.
You will need cup of water, and 2 table spoons of apple cider vinegar.
Directions: After shampooing your hair, apply this rinse and leave it on for 5 minutes, then rinse with cool water. You can comb your hair during the five minutes for better results. What it does is that it smoothes the outermost layer of your hair, the cuticles, making it lie flat.
Olive oil and Eggs hair mask
You will need one raw egg and 1/4 cup of olive oil.
Directions: Mix well and apply to your tresses, leave on for 30 minutes, then shampoo your hair as regular with cool water. Olive oil will capture moist in your hair cuticle, while the amino acids in the egg will help repair your hair cells.
Coconut oil hair mask
Coconut oil is a great natural conditioner for your hair. I did not mention it a lot in my posts, but I am planning to write a post about its tremendous benefits for your skin as well as your hair, in the near future.
Directions: You will need to warm one cup of coconut oil, apply it to your hair, but stay away from your scalp for that would make it so oily. Put on a shower cap and wrap a warm towel around your head. Rewarm your towel as needed, and then shampoo your hair after 30 minutes with cool water.
Yogurt and honey hair mask
Are you planning to apply yogurt and honey mask for your face? Double the ingredients and apply it to your hair, too. Get the recipe here.
South African hair mask remedy
African women has a good experience in dealing with dry frizzy hair, and this remedy is a good one for smoothing your curly dry tresses.
Too much is not a healthy way to go; too much chemical hair treatments, and constant blow drying will damage your hair. Moderate is always the good way to go.
Do you apply hair masks to your hair? What is your favorite recipe?
