Perhaps the most serious problem being faced by most people in the 21st century is hair fall at a young age. People as young as 21 years old are well on their way towards full or semi-baldness which was once considered an old-age problem. So what difference is there between this generation and the generation which has passed? Here is something that youngsters of today can adopt to do about their fast thinning hair and fast receding hairlines.
Healthy eating! That’s right, the generation which has given birth to you and your peers had a very healthy diet composed of greens and lean meats, and freshly caught fish. They did not rely on canned food, nor did they have a dependency on French fries. It is a scientifically proven fact that hair health is directly interconnected with what you eat, and it is essential that you consume foods that are beneficial for your hair.
Here is a List of 5 Healthy Foods for your Hair:
#1 Salmon
Your hair needs protein as well as Vitamin D to sustain itself, and these two components are what Salmon is rich with. But that is not all the Salmon does for your precious hair; the real hero is the Omega-3s. It is suggested that 3% of all that in hair is Omega-3, and it is a substance that is found in only selective foods. Not only do people ignore the intake of Omega-3, but also our body does not produce this fatty acid on its own as well, making the non-intake of it detrimental to hair health.
#2 Walnuts
These brain-shaped nuts are not only delicious but are very much related to our heads. Rich in Omega-3s, these crispy treats are also rich in biotin as well as Vitamin E, which protects cells from DNA damage. As our hair also has DNA in it, the consumption of walnuts acts as a shield for the hair. The hair is then protected from all harmful external forces such as sun exposure, saltwater, etc.
#3 Oysters
Zinc is another nutrient that your hair needs to sustain itself, and one which is not so easily available. Oysters are a great source of zinc, providing almost 493% of the RDA in just three ounces. Not only that, but oysters are also another great source of protein as well, giving your hair a complete energy boost.
#4 Sweet Potatoes
Sweet potatoes are not only delicious but are also rich in beta-carotene, which in turn becomes Vitamin A. It is a known scientific fact that no cells in the body of a human being can function properly without Vitamin A. Since your hair is also made up of cells, it is essential you consume enough sweet potatoes to provide it with sufficient Vitamin A for healthy growth.
#5 Eggs
As hair is 97% protein, you need an excellent protein source. What better and cheaper protein source is there than eggs, rich in over 6 gm of protein per serving. Eggs are also rich in Vitamin A, so not only you are providing your hair with a healthy supply of protein, but you are also providing enough Vitamin A for sustaining healthy growth – a great combination and highly recommended.
It’s your turn, now. What else could be good for your hair?
