Travel Skincare Tips
Stick to your favorite skincare Routine.
When packing your beauty stuff, try not to pack in new products that you had never tried before. Your vacation is not the right time to try out new products; you don’t want to end up having breakouts or a sort of allergic reaction.
Exfoliate Your Skin
I always recommend exfoliating your skin 1-2 times a week.
It is a good idea to exfoliate your skin one day before your flight; this will remove all dead skin cells and excess oil. Dead skin cells and oil could clog your pores, causing breakouts and pimples. Exfoliating will help you avoid or at least reduce breakouts while on vacation.
Moisturize Your Skin
Your skin might tend to dry while traveling, especially if you already have dry skin. So make sure you apply intense moisturizer the day before you are going to fly.
Your lips also may lose moist due to heat or air conditioning, a lip balm that contains shea butter and other natural ingredients is a must to keep your lips hydrated.
To avoid dry skin while traveling, I like to keep a small jar of whipped shea butter in my handbag. Shea butter could help in most skin conditions, like dry skin, eczema, itchy skin, and bug bites. You can also use it for conditioning your hair, that way; you don’t have to carry a hair conditioner when traveling light.
Don’t Forget your Cleanser
Clean skin means healthy skin; so never skip cleansing your skin. And if you can’t carry on your favorite liquid cleanser, replace it with virgin coconut oil; oil cleansing your skin is a great one step for removing all dirt, excess oil, and waterproof mascara, too.
Another tip to avoid breakouts, Dr. Zeichner suggests that you use a salicylic acid cleanser twice daily for a week before your trip. Salicylic acid will gently exfoliate your skin and prevent pimples. Travel sizes and single-use products are a smart choice, too.
Liquid cleansers could be a problem when packing your suitcase, you need them, but it might not fit in the one-quart bag to get through TSA. The good news is that new products have hit the markets recently that are ideal for traveling, like cleansing sticks and tablets.
Cleansing sticks are the new cleansing on the go. Not only they have compact sizes, but also they could be the perfect carry-on friendly product.
Travel Makeup Tips
Wear little makeup.
I always prefer the “no-makeup” makeup look when I travel, go shopping, and on vacations. So I avoid too much foundation and use a little concealer, a BB cream, blusher, lipstick, and mascara to give a natural dewy look.
Some makeup artists suggest that you skip foundation on the day of your trip, and before you land, apply a BB cream, or a tinted moisturizer for a fresh look.
Never Forget to Prime your Skin
Celebrity makeup artist, A.J. Crimson, says that you should put on a primer first, a silicon-based primer, or cream primer to let your makeup stays longer and protect your skin from dehydration.
Powder Makeup
To avoid caky makeup, stay away from powder makeup, and replace them by cream-based makeup (cream foundation, cream blusher, cream eyeshadow, etc.); this way your makeup won’t become flaky and will last longer.
Perfumes
Perfumes could be a big problem when carrying on a plane, especially if you have a full size.
Well, not anymore.
Solid perfumes and perfume sticks are in the market with a wide variety of brands and fragrances.
I recommend Victoria’s Secret solid fragrance crayons, they are a set of 6 of my favorites, and they are so easy to carry on in my purse or handbag.
Travel Health Tips
Drink Water!
We all know that, but sometimes we forget to drink water.
When traveling by air, your skin could get dehydrated easily. So make sure you drink enough water; to give your skin the moisture it needs from within.
You can bring your own empty water bottle and fill it after checking in, or simply ask the flight attendant to fill it for you.
Healthy Snacks in your Carry-On
If you travel by car, you get the chance to choose from a variety of restaurants, but for air travelers, it could be a bit harder, so make sure to bring on some healthy snacks like dry fruits, cereal bars, or dry nuts.

Packing Tip
If you are planning to take only a carry-on bag, or you need to keep things simple; look for multi-task products, like tinted cream that works as a lip color and cream blush. These products could be lifesaving, especially if you traveling on an economy flight.
Taking a good care of your health, skin, and hair while you are traveling might look hard, but it is not. You only need to follow the basics; cleanse and exfoliate your skin like you always do wear creamy makeup, and drink plenty of water.
